We have been blessed to spend a lot of time on the water enjoying our favorite hobby, boating. There is one thing we would have to be deaf, dumb, and blind to miss; where it really counted there was one outboard motor that was more trusted than any other, the Yamaha. When we went to Isla Mujeres, Mexico (Women's Island) it was the only outboard engine we saw being used. Every boat had one on it, so we asked the natives why that was? My Cuban origin helped me get their full prospective, and the answer was that Yamaha was the only option to them the only engine that could be trusted when their lively-hood depended on it.

We were so intrigued seeing hundreds of old beat up fishing boats with handsome Yamaha outboard motors on the back. Our next stop was Cozumel, Mexico. Having already picked up on the Yamaha craze it was easy to notice that things were the same there, Yamaha's were again being called the best outboard motor.

Over the next 10 years we visited many other boat towns such as, the Florida Keys, the Bahamas, Palm Beach, etc. It seemed like more of the same, the Yamaha was the engine of choice with the locals. My husband being from The Ocean State (Rhode Island), has also brought my travels to the north-east. When offered a free fishing trip with a friend of a friend, we gladly accepted. It would turn out that we could not have lucked out with a better guide. After we had over seventy pounds of striped bass in the boat in just two hours, it was time to head in and relax.
