The world of boating is not only way of life but also a favorite past time. Honda outboard motors offer a little bit of something for everyone. No matter the size of boat, there is a model available for all applications.
Portable 2hp and 5hp engines are perfect for canoes, aluminum boats, and sailboats. For larger aluminum boats, sailboats and inflatable devices, the 8, 9.9,15 and 20 horsepower engines are recommended, as they offer the power thrust system which provides additional power. The extra power creates better handling and control options.
The 25hp and 30hp models use a 3to3 induction system which improves the overall engine response. The 40hp, 50hp and 60hp models use the blast technology that provides the motor with plenty of power. The 60hp thrust model uses a unique gear case and large propellers to provide additional power. The 75hp and 90hp engines are equipped with programmed fuel injection and VTEC technologies.
Designed with a low speed torque system, the 115hp model improves acceleration at low speeds. The 135hp and 150hp models incorporate the variable valve timing and lift electronic control technology. The 200hp and 250hp models are both designed with large displacement V6 technology and incorporate a lean burn control that allows the engine to use less fuel during cruising speeds.
The VTEC technology provides the engine with substantial power and fuel economy features for larger boats. The 65hp model offers programmed fuel injection, this method delivers the precise amount of fuel/air mixture to each cylinder. This allows the motor to start easily every time and provides great fuel efficiency with a responsive throttle.
The 105hp model comes standard with the VTEC technology and also uses a duel stage induction system. The dual stage induction system optimizes air flow to match the engine speed. The end result is maximum combustion efficiency, increased torque, and increased fuel efficiency. The four Honda outboard engines available, offer something for every boater, no matter the area where it is being used or the size of the craft.
